## Unite Similar Items

### What It Does

Automatically identifies and groups similar coverage items across different policies, even when they're named differently or structured differently by various carriers.

### Why It's Useful

Different carriers use different terminology and structure their policies differently. One carrier might call it "General Aggregate" while another says "Aggregate Limit." Unite Similar Items uses AI to recognize these are the same coverage and group them together.

### How to Use It

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select multiple policies to compare">
    Works best with 2-4 policies from different carriers.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click 'Unite Similar Items'">
    Launch the unification process.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review unified comparison">
    The AI scans all policies and:

    * Identifies equivalent coverage items across policies
    * Groups them together in the comparison table
    * Normalizes terminology for easier understanding
    * Aligns similar exclusions and endorsements
  </Step>

  <Step title="View original names">
    Click the dropdown icon next to unified names to see the original names that were merged.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Toggle between views">
    Click "Unite Similar Items" again to toggle back to the original (non-unified) comparison.
  </Step>
</Steps>

### Example Transformations

* **"Bodily Injury Liability" + "BI Coverage" + "Bodily Injury"** → Grouped as **"Bodily Injury Liability"**
* **"Property Damage" + "PD Limit"** → Grouped as **"Property Damage Coverage"**
* **"General Aggregate Limit" + "Aggregate"** → Grouped as **"General Aggregate"**

<Tip>
  Always use Unite Similar Items before presenting comparisons to clients. It makes the comparison much easier to understand.
</Tip>

### Best For

* Comparing policies from different carriers where terminology varies
* Ensuring apples-to-apples comparisons
* Making client presentations clearer and more professional

## Wedge Finder

### What It Does

Identifies coverage gaps, competitive advantages, and opportunities where one policy provides better protection than another - these are called "wedges."

### Why It Matters

**Wedges are your selling points.** They show clients where their current policy falls short and why switching carriers (or adding coverage) makes sense. This tool automatically finds these opportunities.

### How to Use It

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select policies to compare">
    Typically compare incumbent vs. proposed/renewal policies.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click 'Wedge Finder'">
    Launch the wedge analysis.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review identified wedges">
    The AI analyzes both policies and identifies:

    * **Coverage gaps** - Where one policy lacks coverage the other provides
    * **Limit differences** - Where coverage amounts vary (higher or lower)
    * **Exclusion mismatches** - Where one policy has fewer exclusions
    * **Additional benefits** - Extra features or services in one policy
    * **Cost differences** - Premium variances relative to coverage changes
  </Step>

  <Step title="Prioritize wedges">
    View results organized by wedge type and importance (High, Medium, Low priority).
  </Step>
</Steps>

### What You'll See

Each wedge is displayed as a **wedge card** containing:

* **Impact rating** - High, Medium, or Low priority
* **Description** - What the wedge is and why it matters
* **Recommendation** - Suggested talking points for client conversations
* **Dollar impact** - If quantifiable (e.g., \$1M higher aggregate limit)

### Example Wedges Found

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion icon="triangle-exclamation" title="HIGH PRIORITY: Cyber Coverage Gap">
    **Wedge:** Proposed policy includes Cyber Liability coverage (\$1M limit) while incumbent has no cyber coverage.

    **Why it matters:** Without cyber coverage, client is exposed to data breach costs, business interruption, and regulatory fines.

    **Talking point:** "Your current policy doesn't include cyber coverage. With the increasing risk of data breaches, this \$1M cyber liability coverage in the new policy protects you from potentially devastating financial losses."
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="circle-exclamation" title="MEDIUM PRIORITY: Lower Deductible">
    **Wedge:** Proposed policy has lower Professional Liability deductible ($5K vs. $10K).

    **Why it matters:** Lower out-of-pocket costs for each claim.

    **Talking point:** "The new policy cuts your deductible in half, from $10,000 to $5,000, reducing your out-of-pocket expense for each claim."
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion icon="triangle-exclamation" title="HIGH PRIORITY: Terrorism Coverage">
    **Wedge:** Incumbent policy excludes terrorism, proposed includes it at no additional cost.

    **Why it matters:** Terrorism exclusions leave clients unprotected for covered losses caused by terrorism acts.

    **Talking point:** "Your current policy excludes terrorism coverage. The new policy includes it at no extra cost, providing crucial protection in today's environment."
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

### Best For

* Client presentations and renewal negotiations
* Demonstrating value of carrier changes
* Identifying cross-sell opportunities
* Building compelling proposals

* **File format:** Only PDFs are accepted
* **Combined policies:** Policy Chat is not available for combined policy types - select individual policy types instead
* **Processing time:** Large policies (100+ pages) may take 5-10 minutes to process fully
* **Accuracy:** AI extraction is highly accurate, but **always review critical details manually** before sending to clients
